SILKE STURM schafft großformatige Gemälde, die kunsthistorische und popkulturelle Bezüge zu rätselhaften Kompositionen arrangieren. STURM hat sich auf verschiedene Weise auf Gemälde des 19. Jahrhunderts, Werbung aus den 1950er Jahren, Graffiti, Cartoons und ihre eigenen Fotografien bezogen. Sie vereint oft sehr unterschiedliche Stimmungen, Stile und Quellen auf einem einzigen Bild, und ihre  Kompositionen können abwechselnd zu psychologischen, assoziativen Interpretationen einladen oder diese ablehnen. Insgesamt bieten STURMs raffinierte Pastiches trockene Kommentare zum zeitgenössischen Leben. Die Malerin begann in den 2000der Jahren an  einem neuen expressionistischen Modus zu arbeiteten, sie erlang Bekanntheit durch eine Galerie in Berlin , mit denen sie auf internationalen Messen ausstellte, wie der Art Beijing und der Art Position in der Schweiz.

INTERNATIONAL ARTIST

SILKE STURM creates large-format paintings that
 arrange art historical and pop culture references into
 enigmatic compositions. STURM has variously referenced 19th century paintings,
 1950s advertising, graffiti, cartoons and his own photographs.
 She often combines very different moods, styles and sources in a single image, 
and his compositions can alternately invite or reject psychological,
 associative interpretations. Overall, STURM's sophisticated pastiches offer
 dry commentary on contemporary life. She began working on
 a new expressionist mode in the 2000s, gaining notoriety through
 a gallery in Berlin, with them she exhibited at international fairs
 such as Art Beijing and Art Position in Switzerland.
